Close up hydraulic system of yellow bulldozer at industrial construction site, with mechanical cylinder and steel component for infrastructure and excavation work

In the mining sector, heavy excavation environments can rapidly wear down standard mechanical parts. To maintain continuous operations, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) require durable components capable of withstanding intense physical stress. At American Industrial Company (AIC), we specialize in precision metal stamping and custom fabrication to supply robust, reliable parts for rigorous mining applications.

Learn more about our core manufacturing capabilities, secondary services, and applications where our metal components support the mining industry.

Metal Components for Mining Equipment

Heavy excavation environments expose equipment to severe abrasion and heavy impact forces that can quickly wear down standard mechanical parts, causing unexpected downtime and maintenance delays. OEMs require durable components to maintain continuous operations in coal mines, rock quarries, and gold extraction sites. By utilizing specialized alloys-including stainless steel, aluminum, copper, and brass—we produce robust parts capable of enduring intense physical stress at active extraction sites.

Our Manufacturing Capabilities

At AIC, our 25,000-square-foot facility is equipped to handle complex mining industry fabrication projects. Our team performs precise progressive die stamping, custom shallow-draw operations, and laser cutting to accurately form custom metal parts. We implement optimized design principles to minimize material waste and improve overall production efficiency.

Stamping for Processing Equipment

Our press room houses advanced Komatsu, Bliss, and Federal presses, generating between 30 and 275 tons of force to stamp heavy-duty parts for mining processing equipment. Our progressive die operations accelerate production schedules and lower per-unit costs on large-volume orders.

Versatile Fabrication

Complex mining manufacturing demands flexible production methods. We cut intricate geometries using a 3,000-watt VyTek FiberCAB 44 Laser System, an advanced laser cutting system capable of holding dimensional tolerances down to ±0.002 inches on thick metal plates. We also maintain an internal tool room equipped with CNC vertical mills and a Fanuc submersed auto-threader wire EDM (Alpha 1CS). Our team uses this equipment to build custom dies directly on-site.

Our Secondary Services

Delivering turnkey parts often requires comprehensive secondary processing. Our integrated mining fabrication capabilities eliminate the need for third-party contractors by completing the final assembly stages directly in our facility, helping to accelerate your project timeline. Additionally, our quality assurance department utilizes Micro-Vu Matrix optical camera systems and Scherr Tumico optical comparators to verify exact dimensional accuracy before shipment.

Our secondary services include:

  • Welding and tapping. We securely join heavy metal sections and tap precise threads for mechanical fastening.
  • Drilling and grinding. Our technicians bore exact holes and smooth rough surfaces to prepare parts for final installation.
  • Deburring and heat treating. We remove sharp metal burrs and apply thermal treatments to harden components against industrial wear.

Applications in the Mining Industry

We build custom metal parts for diverse mineral extraction applications, supporting heavy machinery that operates in rock quarries and underground mines. Common applications include:

  • Crushing equipment. We manufacture durable brackets and structural supports for heavy crushing equipment.
  • Material handling. Our stamped parts integrate directly into conveyors and industrial mixers.
  • Processing machinery. We supply precision metal assemblies for dryers, blenders, and large industrial agitators.
